Guest speakers will join us from Great Britain, Canada and the United States.
All are members of the T.E. Lawrence Society, which is an organization that promotes research and education on Lawrence’s life, works and era. They will speak to us on: Lawrence of Arabia: His Life as Author, Collector, Patron and Publisher.
The speakers, and their topics are listed below:
John Johnson-Allen:  asks: Who was T.E. Lawrence and why is he still important today?
Tony Gill:  describes how his home at Clouds Hill was central to his literary life. Lorraine Tinsley speaks on the books he carried in the war and their importance to him.
Susan Vincent:  will talk about Lawrence’s achievements as both an author and translator;
George Thompson: speaks on Lawrence’s roles as patron of the visual arts and publisher.
Martin Gething: will describe Lawrence’s passion for collecting books and music.
Neill Child: will tell us about Lawrence’s literary circle that centered on Clouds Hill.
The event takes place Weds October 7th at 3 PM and runs until 4:30 PM.
