BE BOLD

One of the most coveted events of the season is the Guild Hall Gala. The evening started at the Museum where guests had the opportunity to view works of Ellswoth Kelly. Mr Kelly summered on the East End for several years in the Springs and Bridgehampton. He loved the shapes of barns and you will see those forms on some of his famous art. He is of the elite ilk of world renowned Abstract Expressionists joining Jackson Pollack and Lee Krasner, and William de Kooning, They made the Springs their home because of the light and maybe there was creativity flowing in the air. He also made friends with artists James Rosenquist and Roy Lichtenstein. Ellsworth Kelly’s love of bold design and color also became the must wear for the Hampton guests at the Guild Gala.

After the Preview guests were whisked off to an equestrian property for cocktails, dinner and dancing. Helping Guild Hall and having a wonderful time, was a win/win.
