In these unprecedented, turbulent times Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is taking all appropriate action and making all appropriate preparations to care for our communities during this COVID-19 crisis.. Our dedicated family of doctors, nurses and staff are rising to this challenge and are adapting to ever evolving CDC, as well as New York State and Suffolk County Department of Health guidelines and policies. We are also collaborating regularly with our colleagues at Stony Brook Medicine and the New York Department of Health.

Our preparations include:

• Ensuring ample staffing
• Identifying areas of the Hospital that can accommodate additional beds (ICU and Medical-Surgical) to expand our capacity as demand increases
• Acquiring equipment, technology, supplies to accommodate a potential patient surge

It will take heroic action to see us through these challenging times but we are committed to doing everything that we possibly can to care for our communities.
