The Stony Brook Southampton Hospital hosted its 61st Annual Summer Party under air-conditioned tents in the fields at Wickapogue Road and Old Town Road, Southampton

This year’s Honorees at the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s 61st Annual Summer Party were philanthropist Jean Shafiroff and her husband Martin Shafiroff. The Shafiroffs are longtime supporters of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, with Jean being on the Southampton Hospital Association Board.

The renowned Summer Party is one of the largest fundraising events in the Hamptons, and this year raised over $1.5 million through the generous support of its honorees, donors and guests. Over 700 benefactors attended in support of the Jenny & John Paulson Emergency Department.

WNBC’s new anchor  Chuck Scarborough graciously emceed the Gala which was attended by the who’s who of Southampton. Guests included: Hillary Geary Ross  and United States Secretary of Commerce WilburRoss,  Marigay McKee, CEO and Founder, MM Luxe Consulting, Fern Mallis, Fashion Icon, Mercedes Ruehl, Actress, Jean & Martin Shafiroff, Philanthropists and Designers Sachin & Babi Ankasa who were this year’s Fashion Chairs.

The Hospital Gala is not only the most important social event of the Hamptons’ summer, the pre-dinner socializing outside the big tent is another can’t miss. The guests, the celebrities, the moguls and just about everyone else gets there early to hobnob and schmooze. I would guess that many an important deal was started on the grassy lawn.
