Forget to pack your favorite Chanel ensemble for the 4^th? No worries. Now through Labor Day at 26 Newton Lane just off Main Street in East Hampton, there’s a charming ephemeral Chanel boutique where you can find everything you need for a weekend out East – or a spontaneous trip to Paris. Discover modern silhouettes from the Coco Beach 2022 and Métiers d’Arts 2022-23 collections by Virginie Viard not to mention the J12, Première, Code Coco, and Boyfriend watches, as well as the Coco Crush fine jewelry collection, all  accompanied by all the chicest accessories.

The classic grey-shingled shop is on a landmarked site built in 1897 by Joseph Greenleaf Thorpe, famous as the architect of Grey Gardens. Naturally, it’s charm works from the outside in with beautiful landscaping including a lovely garden where parties will be held during the summer season. Inside it’s a Parisian fantasy, a dream world brought to life with Chanel’s signature black, white and gold color palette, all elegantly rendered with the modern allure so stylishly imagined by Coco Chanel yet with just enough of a coastal casual vibe to make this a perfect fit out East.

Private appointments will be offered on the boutique’s second floor decorated with ivory linen sofas accented with informally tossed pillows catching the sunlight in gold and white Chanel tweed. The first floor will present ready to wear with accessories like sunglasses as well as watches and fine jewelry and of course, shoes. Keep an eye out for luxe options that work for DAY — easy to wear denim that’s as perfect for an afternoon in Montauk as it is for a stroll along the Seine or swimwear and cover-ups from the Coco Beach collection – and NIGHT – sleek, sophisticated statements from the Métiers d’ Art 2021-22 collection plus sparkle-edged suiting and gorgeous tweeds woven with golden threads.

Though the aesthetic is indeed Chanel à la plage, there’s something perfect for every East Hampton occasion at their new ephemeral boutique.
