When Jean Shafiroff gets involved in a charity, you know that there will be maximum energy and compassion, and her will to succeed for each charity is unwavering. Relentless.

She told the 125 guests invited for cocktails at her home:

“As most of you know the Hospital is without a doubt the most important entity to support in the Hamptons”.

While she has gotten involved in numerous charities, none have demonstrated her passion to get results like Southampton Hospital, now called Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Under her wing and with great contributors and sponsors, the Hospital has become recognized as a leader.

Last weekend Jean and husband Martin, gave a kick-off party to the big gala, at their home. The Gala will benefit the Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department at the Hospital. This year on August 3, we hear that Jean and Martin will be honored. Bravo to you both, and of course kudos to Chief Officer Bob Chaloner who has been spearheading the efforts to deliver first class care. Under his tenure the Hospital has been able to go from being in the red to now having an 8 million dollar surplus.

Co-chairs Lora Lafaro and Cindy Willis, along with Georgina Bloomberg, Fiona and Stanley Druckenmiller, and Jane Lowey were also in attendance.

From a little hospital, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital has become a pillar of the community. Now with a Cancer Center, and other life saving additions coming on, plus a surplus of cash flow. Let’s face it Dazzling! There are many opportunities to get involved.
