Get in the swing of summer! Pop the cork on an outstanding selection of champagnes and more sparkling wines all selected by one of the East End’s favorite purveyors of organic and biodynamic wines where you will find sommeliers on staff year-round. Luis Marin of Wainscott Main Wine and Spirits shared his insights exclusively with easthampton.com for the best bubbly for the 4th – and beyond – his suggestions include easy drinking options –  frothy libations that flow at casual gatherings – as well as more glamourous choices – as well as fine – and unusual but oh so delicious – champagnes meant to be savored. You’ll find a holiday-ready sparkler here to toast to the season in style no matter whether you’re feeling frugal or fabulous. If you are as far out as Montauk or as close as East Hampton Village, Wainscott Main will deliver for free.

A few sparking insights from Luis Marin at Wainscott Main…

When it comes to sparkers this summer, what’s hot?

Rosé in the Hamptons equals water. We have noticed people are gravitating to Rosé sparkling wine as well.

What new trends are you seeing?

We live in the age of information, today’s consumers are looking to explore, to discover for themselves, to find new wines that they may not have had on their radar screen before. With that said the Grower Champagne movement is gaining more followers. We recently did a grower champagne producer lunch which was wonderfully well-received.

Why sparklers in the 4th?

Why not? Sparkling wine is always the answer. Can always celebrate with sparkling wine

Best way to serve?

Cold of course, but among friends and family. It’s our only advice, but if you have sparkling wine at your house, you are doing just fine.

How is your assortment unique?

I would just like to say we are consumers before retailers, we take pride in every single bottle of wine at every price point being brought in to Wainscott Main. I love champagne myself, so I try to have a balanced assortment.

Poema Cava Brut NV
An easy, everyday sparkler. Fresh, clean, citrus, mineral and Granny Smith apple aromas with toasted bread notes make this a great example of Cava. $15.

Domini del Leone Organic Prosecco
Great prosecco for enjoying on its own or making a tasty Mimosa. Domini del Leone prosecco presents fresh, crisp pear and apple flavors with a very dry finish. Certified organic, vegan. $22.

Jeio Rose Prosecco
Rosé in the Hamptons is always hot, but now Rosé Prosecco is increasingly popular. Elegant, complex bouquet with scents of rose, hints of fresh fruits and lychee. Full and harmonious. $21.

Arnaud Lambert Cremant de Loire NV
When you want to drink good bubbles but don’t want to spend champagne money. Grown on the estate’s chalkiest soils this Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay blend is traditionally made in the méthode champenoise. $31.

Champagne Stephane Coquillette Inflorescence Brut NV
A great alternative to entry level, well-known champagnes. Authentic, expressive, organic, and terroir-driven with a different style of expression from this house, known for creating fresher, drier Champagnes. Perfect complement to seafood. $52.

Champagne Veuve Fourny et Fils Grande Reserve 1er Cru NV
The reason why we don’t have Veuve Clicquot, only room for one widow. A blend of Pinot Noir and Premier Cru as well as Grand Cru Chardonnay harvested by hand. Preserved in small oak wood containers, this is an exceptional fresh and fruity Champagne. $54.99

Champagne Egly-Ouriet Brut Grand Cru NV
Grower producer with a great following, trending grower champagne. This is an “insider’s choice,” coveted by those in the know. Primarily Pinot Noir with one third Chardonnay typically from Grand Cru Ambonnay with the rest coming from Grand Cru Verzenay and Bouzy. Aged 48 months in older barrels. $120.

Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2014
Originally made for the Russian Tsars, this vintage champagne is genuinely impressive. Cristal 2014 shows us the ultimate balance between maturity and freshness, the fruit and finesse are radiant. This sunny vintage brought a generous and well-ripened harvest of grapes yielding a Cristal that is truer than ever to its identity. $359.99
