Singer/songwriter Alexa Ray Joel will be the Celebrity Grand Marshal for the tenth annual Race of Hope to Defeat Depression on Sunday, August 3 in Southampton Village.

The daughter of supermodel/actress Christie Brinkley and music icon Billy Joel is a mental health advocate. The Race of Hope to Defeat Depression was founded by Audrey Gruss, who has been co-grand marshal for the past ten years. Gruss says, “The Race of Hope is a way to give our Southampton community the opportunity to rally around mental health and raise funds for the Task Force.â€

Pamela Morgan, the entertaining expert of Flirting with Flavors, lit up the Hamptons social scene recently by hosting La Vie & Luxe: A Night in Saint-Tropez. The event was held at her estate in Water Mill with her husband, Michael Trokel. Produced in collaboration with Revel Rouge, the event welcomed guests including Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Candace Bushnell and Leesa Rowland….

Vanessa, Kai and Donald Trump Jr.

 

Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., and their 18 year-old daughter, Kai, ate at La Goulue Sur Mer in Southampton on a recent weekend. Vanessa is currently involved with golf great Tiger Woods, whom she met through her former father-in-law President Donald Trump. Word on the curb is that Woods is also coaching Kai, who is an aspiring professional golfer…

Emily Ratajkowski, rebel at heart, is a brand ambassador for Gucci’s GG monogram campaign. (Don’t they already put GG monograms on everything? Did you know the founder was named Guccio Gucci?) Anyhow, they sent the photographer Daniel Arnold to follow Ratajkowski, Gucci Giglio canvas tote ($2,250) in hand, across the landscape at Cannes and down to the sea, to shoot a story, introducing the Gucci Giglio. For this Saturday night dinner party at LDV at the Maidstone Hotel and Restaurant, Ratajkowski, again clutching a Gucci handbag, wore a long black sleeveless dress. Other guests included Sarah Pidgeon, Havana Rose Liu, Molly Sims, Derek Blasberg and another photographer, Tyrell Hampton, who is handsome enought to be, and is also, a model.

It has been a whirlwind summer so far for Jean Shafiroff.  See the story elsewhere about her involvement with the French Heritage Society. The philanthropist and author was named the special philanthropy guest at the South Fork Natural History Museum Gala on July 12 in Bridgehampton. Shafiroff also served as event chair at the Southampton African American Museum’s Champagne Brunch on July 20. The Brunch’s special guest was BET “SISTAS” star Novi Brown, while SAAM President and CEO Brenda Simmons hosted the brunch, which was held at the Southampton Inn.
