Fourth of July may be in the middle of the week this year, but there’s no reason to rush back to the city for a weekend of post-Holiday parties. The East End will be hosting the eighth edition of Market Art + Design at the Bridgehampton Museum beginning Thursday, July 5th; the opening night celebration is not to be missed. With an Aperol Spritz in one hand and an oyster from Brooklyn Oyster Party in the other, VIP Pass Holders will have first look at 80 top galleries of modern and contemporary art.
Preview Pass tickets which include access to all four days are a steal at $50 including an invite to the evening party benefiting The Parrish Art Museum and offering even more personal opportunities to engage with other attendees, curators, dealers, and most importantly the showcased artists. Other options include the $35 Multi-Day Pass to still have 4-day access or the $25 One Day Pass.
Attracting hip artists who willingly mingle with crowds of Hamptonites, this Art Market Productions event is playing host to its largest reception yet. The only fair of its kind in the Hamptons, Market Art + Design strives to present progressive works by established and emerging artists. Formerly showcasing art from celebrities Dave Eggers, John Mellencamp and Mr. Brainwash, gallery booths this season include a balance of fine art, contemporary art, sculptures, mixed media and pop art. Among the not-to-be-missed installations: Becky Rosa’s Hermèsicle presented by Evan Lurie Gallery and Françoise Issaly’s My Wish Fulfilling Tree presented by Artêria Gallery. Southampton’s Tripoli Patterson of Tripoli Gallery will be presenting Yung Jake, his featured artist and younger brother, whose digital pop art and Emoji portraits have stirred up a storm of interest across social channels. David Benrimon Fine Art is back presenting LOVE Red Outside Blue Inside by Robert Indiana and Shipboard Girl by Roy Lichtenstein at booth 213. In addition, Artsy will be providing a personal guide to Market Art + Design 2018 through their app, an option benefitting old and new art fanatics navigating through the galleries.
There is something for everyone to enjoy at Market Art + Design. Stand is bringing the coffee. Godiva is bringing the ice cream. Bridgehampton is bringing on the art.
