Long an advocate for prompt and adequate testing and health care, the prominent broadcaster Katie Couric will speak and answer questions on July 13 at a luncheon at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton. It is the annual luncheon to benefit the new Stony Brook
Medicine (SBM) East Hampton Emergency Department, which will open next year on Pantigo Place. It’s the first extension of the Stony Brook Medicine (SBM) campus since the Phillips Family Cancer Center opened in Southampton in 2019.
The emergency room in East Hampton – and everyone from rescue squads to worried mothers to school teachers to life guards had better learn the new address, 400 Pantigo Place, heading north on Main Street, turn at Citarella’s, before Nick and Toni’s – will serve not just East Hampton but Sag, Montauk, Amagansett, Shelter Island, Gardner’s Island, all the ships at sea.
You get the idea. It will be the closest place to get emergency medical treatment other than Southampton. Not colds and flu. Emergencies.
Individual tickets are $500 and up. Hello, remember, Katie Couric is speaking at 11. The luncheon is at 12. Underwriter Sponsorship is available for $25,000, which includes a VIP table for 10, signed books for the 10 guests, listing on printed materials and website, so get a move on, and a private garden tour of Grey Gardens on July 14, the next day. \Information is here.
