The Pioneer Chapter of Hadassah honored philanthropist and author, Jean Shafiroff with their 2018 Woman of the Year Award at a fundraising luncheon on August 6th at Oceanbleu in Westhampton Beach. Event Chair, Elisa Greenbaum presented Jean with the award. Jean spoke inspiringly about her view of philanthropy, stressing that everyone can be a philanthropist in some way, whether it be by giving money, teaching a skill that you have, or giving of your time. Wearing a navy print Carolina Herrera dress, with bright red shoes and earrings, Jean also shared her passion for fashion, and Carolina Herrera New York had a Fashion Installation of 10 magnificent gowns and dresses from their Fall 2018 collection for guests to view.
A special service award in memory of Helen and Itchy Adelson was presented by Chapter Presidents Linda Stoll Pearlman and Harriette Gilbert to Chapter Treasurer, Candy Volkommer. Debra Halpert, Co-Founder of the Pioneer Chapter and a past honoree gave the opening remarks.
