Flow Hamptons August 22
By Flo Anthony —
Jean Shafiroff celebrated her appearance on the August cover of Social Life magazine with a cocktail party. The cover story detailed her “long-standing work as a prolific author, insightful television-show host, advocate, leading philanthropist, and successful volunteer fundraiser.” Martin and Jean Shafiroff turned their Southampton estate’s back yard, down to a scenic pool, into a scene for the Saturday night party, August 17. I caught up with the cover subject, and she told me: “Philanthropy is my passion. I plan to continue my philanthropic work for the rest of my life.”

Guests were offered cocktails, wine and champagne, a buffet of seafood, assorted meats, fruit, salad and dessert. Attendees included Justin Mitchell, owner of Social Life, the former professional boxer Michael Spinks, NY State Assembly member Rebecca Seawright and Jay Hershenson, Ramona Singer, Candace Bushnell, Julia Haart, Ruth Miller, Lucia Hwong, Anna Rothschild, Katlean de Monchy, Richard Rubenstein, Todd and Liz Shapiro and others. Guests received gift bags with bottles of La Crema Chardonnay.

Sightings
SiriusXM invited Bradley Cooper, Jimmy Fallon, Andy Cohen, John McEnroe and Jon Hamm, who came with his wife, Anna. There were also what looked like hundreds of SiriusXM subscribers who came for the exclusive Jelly Roll concert on Saturday, August 17. It was held in a tent behind The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett. Howard and Beth Stern were there, too, and got a call out from Jelly Roll, who thanked Stern for an earlier interview. Then Jelly Roll, who was about to begin a national tour, sang and shouted a 20-minute concert of blues, rap, rock, and country that had fans bouncing, waving and aiming their cell phones.

There was some mingling with Jelly Roll and his band afterward followed by BBQ. You can get a sense of the night
here. SiriusXM has done exclusive concerts in Amagansetts like this before with Ed Sheeran, and Mumford & Sons — so people know when they get the invitation to turn up.

There were plenty of bars on the edge of the crowd, and the A-listers were escorted in separately. Anyone interested in seeing the whole concert will be able
to go online, for a free trial of the SeriusXM app. (Of course.)

Also seen Naomi Watts in Bridgehampton on August 17, where the Sag Harbor Cinema honored her at their yearly benefit. It was held at the Briidgehampton Tennis and Surf club. Also at the benefit, art by six local artists that was donated and auctioned off. The 55-year-old actress was strikingly youthful looking, perhaps because she has been married barely a year. She was recently spotted in New York City filming “The Morning Show,” which has been renewed for a fourth season. It stars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and, not incidentally, has a role played by Watt’s new husband, Billy Crudup.
