HAMPTONS FLOW SEPT. 26
By Flo Anthony–
Tongues are wagging that Sylvester Stallone is in contract to purchase a $25 million home at 9 Hither Lane in East Hampton, according to the New York Post. The megastar is reportedly paying cash for the eight-bedroom abode, which is going to be a residence for his daughters Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet. And that’s a problem, according to the head of Omega Security.
For one thing, the three daughters are all in their 20s. So far, all are single. They are active on social media, and post photos of themselves, often in bathing suits.
Papa Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, live far away, in Palm Beach, FL. In fact, the whole family’s affairs are on view on Disney Plus, Paramount Plus and other streaming services in a reality series called the Family Stallone. Why is that a problem?
Any stalker, creep, window peeper, bad guy, thief or worse knows where they are going to live. Has seen all the photos on real estate web sites. Knows the layout of the house and grounds. Can follow the whereabouts of the three daughters on the television series, in gossip columns and on their Instagram pages. That means they are vulnerable.
Bryan Griffin, of Omega Protection, Papa Stallone needs to have a security survey done immediately. He exclusively told Easthampton.com, “Due to squatters and criminals trying to break into houses, I think it would be beneficial for him to have security for the home whether it’s empty or occupied. Especially if his daughters are staying there.” When different people are coming and going, that can mean confusion about whether the doors are locked, and who is responsible for making the house secure. Different schedules mean no one is in charge. And what 20-year-old wants to make and supervise a chart?
The eldest, Sophia Rose, is a college graduate who runs a book club and has just turned 28. She lives in New York and has a long-standing relationship with Grant Sholem, whose financial business is based in Cold Spring, NY. She has 1.8 million followers on Instagram.
Sophia Rose is close to her middle sister, Sistine Rose, the dark-haired model, who is two years younger. The two of them do a podcast together called “Unwaxed.” (That leads to a few questions: dental floss? surf boards? pubic regions?) Sistine Rose has 1.7 million followers on Instagram.
Then there is the baby sister, Scarlet Rose, who turned 22 in May, and walked for Tommy Hilfiger fashion around the same time. She might is going to have a place at that big house in East Hampton as well.
That everyone-in-the-same-bed version of family life in “The Family Stallone” is a pretty much a myth. Papa Stallone is in his 70s.
It was the least he could do to buy his three daughters a beach house in the Hamptons. The spec house on Hither Lane was styled by the interior designer James Michael Howard. The posh digs include a great room, formal dining room, an eat-in chef’s kitchen, a room with a pool table, a screening room and family room.
To be honest, the way most people in their 20’s live, a home would be sufficient with a big kitchen with good WiFi, a screening room, and a pool, plus a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms. Maybe a steam shower. And some weights.
There are bedrooms on the upper and lower floors, including a junior suite with a balcony. One bedroom is set up with four single beds, in case a bunch of little kids turn up.
It’s a mile from the ocean, but it sits on a full 1.1 acres and includes a pool and pool house.
That leaves a lot of area to protect, especially with three people living alone.
MARTHA & INA
Martha Stewart and Ina Garten are both in the news these days. Ina Garten’s “Be Ready When the Luck Happens,” will be published on Oct. 1. And Martha Stewart’s, ahem, 100th book, “The Cookbook: 100 Favorite Recipes, with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen,” will be published on Nov. 12.
She is also the subject of “Martha,” a documentary by R.J. Cutler, that will be the opening night film for the Hamptons International Film Festival. It will also air on Netflix on Oct. 30. (R.J. Cutler is especially well known for his documentary about Dick Cheney. One review said, “If one were to create a picture of a sociopath, this portrait of Dick Cheney might beg some consideration.”)
The two domestic divas met back in the ’90s when Stewart lived on Lily Pond Lane and often stopped at Garten’s store, Barefoot Contessa, which was in East Hampton. Martha was especially fond of Garten’s lemon squares. She gave Ina Garten her start in the book business by introducing her to an editor.
But then the relationship cooled.
The two domestic divas have different reasons why their decades-long friendship ended. In a profile recently published in the New Yorker about Garten, both ladies explained why they stopped talking. According to Stewart, Garten stopped being friendly with her while she was in prison in a Federal prison camp in West Virginia.
Martha explained, “When I was sent off to Alderson Prison, she stopped talking to me. I found that extremely distressing and extremely unfriendly.”
Garten doesn’t agree with Stewart’s version. She told the New Yorker that they drifted apart after Stewart sold her home in East Hampton and started spending more time at her new home in Bedford, New York. That was 2004, two decades ago.
Ladies…ladies.. you can get it back together again. It only takes one phone call. Or Martha, you are going to be in East Hampton on Friday Night, October 4 for the opening night of your documentary. Why not make Ina Garten your guest, and give her a big hug. Actions speak louder, right? …….
SEAN COMBS
Sean “Diddy” Combs remains incarcerated in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being turned down for bail twice. He has been charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, arson, kidnapping and transportation to engage in prostitution. Several of those occurrences happened for the former East Hampton resident who hosted notorious white parties at his home, which were attended by A-list celebrities like his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more.
After his arrest, he was placed on suicide watch, even though his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, says he is strong and focused on his defense.
However, a source says Combs refuses to eat because he is afraid of being poisoned. He is also sharing a dormitory cell with convicted cyber-swindler Sam Bankman-Fried.
Not only that, but news keeps piling up. A book supposedly representing the late Kim Porter’s lost manuscript was self-published by a man operating under a pseudonym who now says he doesn’t even know if it’s real. Nonetheless it is full of salacious details about her life with Combs, and is No. 2 on Amazon. Kim Porter’s children and others say that it is 100 percent fake.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has always been critical of Combs, has made a deal with Netflix for a docuseries on him. He will be working with the Emmy-award winning director and producer Alex Stapleton.
As more charges and names are revealed, even more projects are sure to be announced.
