Kat’s Eye on Style: Acuarela Comes to Southampton

By Katlean de Monchy

— In a world too often defined by sameness, Acuarela arrives in Southampton on August 26 for one day as a bold new voice in fashion — a luxury platform celebrating individuality, identity, and the artistry of Latin America.

Co-founded by investor Tania Fabiani and acclaimed Brazilian designer Marcelo Quadros, Acuarela was born from a shared vision: fashion as a canvas for self-expression. From hand-sewn feather details to flowing chiffon capes, every piece carries artistry, heritage, and soul.

The debut collection showcases standout designers including Marcelo Quadros, DGaia, Reinaldo Lourenço, Lauf, Agua de Coco, Ammi, Rayo, and Leelah — names known for blending sustainable craftsmanship with contemporary sophistication.

For me, this debut feels personal. I spent my childhood years in South America, where my father served as a U.S. diplomat, and I carry with me a love of its culture, vibrancy, and identity. To introduce Acuarela to the Hamptons for a one-day pop-up is not just about fashion, it’s about connection — bringing stories and heritage to a community I care deeply about.

With Acuarela’s Southampton showcase, Latin American luxury meets the Hamptons spirit — global, sophisticated, and alive with individuality.
