Meghan Markle jetted into the Hamptons on July 26 to join the G9 Ventures Summit, which was held at the home of investor Amy Griffin, a businesswoman/philanthropist who quietly aids companies helmed by women such as Gwyneth Paltrow‘s GOOP and Whitney Wolfe Herd‘s Bumble, an online dating platform.

Amy Griffin is married to the hedge-fund billionaire John Griffin. Their $13 million home is in Southampton.
Paltrow, who has a home in Amagansett, was among the A-listers who attended the event, including Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, and Katie Couric, who resides in East Hampton. The Duchess of Sussex may have attended the party to get tips on promoting her upcoming lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, inspired by her family life in Santa Barbara.
Markle was palsy with her long-time friends, the cosmetics titan Bobbi Brown and the Bahrani fashion designer Misha Nonoo.

After the conference, Markle met Misha Nonoo and her husband, Michael Hess, at Sartiano. the pop-up restaurant at the Hedges.
 After having a son by surrogate in March with her husband, Benji Madden, Cameron Diaz, age 51, has not slowed down one bit. She hit East Hampton with a vengeance on Thursday, July 25, when she joined her pal Gwyneth Paltrow at the pre-opening dinner party at the pop up Goop Pharmacie in Amagansett. The next day, she and Katherine Power, the co-founder of her vegan-friendly wine brand, Avaline,  got down to their own business. They popped up at Si Si restaurant in East Hampton, to pour sparkling, rosé and white wine to thirsty customers.

Marketing Avaline was not over. Following her stint as bartender, Diaz and Power took advantage of the star power in East Hampton and threw a private sit-down dinner. Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon turned up. So did Rebecca Minkoff,  Rachel Zoe and several young entrepreneurs who had founded successful businesses involving beauty, media and lingerie.  The cocktail on offer was the Avaline Spritz. Guests also feasted on appetizers and a four-course seafood supper.

In November “Back In Action,” a film starring Diaz and her good friend Jamie Foxx will be shown on Netflix. The two have been friends since they starred in “Any Given Sunday” (1999). Fox asked Diaz to come out of retirement to join him. She is hardly retired. Her comic action film with Keanu Reeves arrives in the spring.

 The Southampton African-American Museum Gala was chaired by Jean Shafiroff, Martin Shafiroff, Aisha Christian and Michael Steifman on July 25 at the Southampton Inn. The evening honored the museum’s co-founder Brenda Simmons.

Drake, Tristan Thompson, Kevin Durant, and friends ordered the entire menu at Little Charli in East Hampton on July 24. Well, there were 40 friends, I think the entire menu several times over. They were there until 3 am.
Tracy Pollen, Mariska Hargitay, Brooke Shields and Jessica Seinfeld attended the Womaness & Ali Wentworth event on Saturday, July 27, in Sagaponack.
Emma Roberts visited the East x East Swimwear pop-up at the Montauk Beach House with the store’s owner, Dylan Grace, on Tuesday, July 31.
