The CONCOURS — IT’S BACK

Save the date. Saturday, August 2. It’s to benefit the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, but this is a chance to pet a different kind of beast: collector autos. Specifically Ferraris and Porsches.

Or at least that will be what the judges will be looking at. Most people wander around, sample free drinks and cigars, buy things from the luxury vendors, oggle  ladies in skimpy clothes demonstrating this and that, and look at the “outside of competition” cars — the ones that someone has driven onto the field.

These are the ones you can pet!

Moreover our own Candace Bushnell will be a judge this year. Her job? Choosing the Sexiest Car of the Year. Hmm, how will she decide?

If you want to come and have a gander, buy a guest pass for $295 per person, which includes a catered brunch, cocktails and self parking on the Polo Field. It says “sold out,” but we’re betting you can get in… maybe for less, day of. It’s on Lumber Lane.

Those entering cars in competition, and this is by invitation only, pay $395 for two VIP passes. VIP passes include early admission (9 am), a catered brunch, cocktails and VIP parking.

Anyone interested should go to the Rand website,  for more information about this and other Concours.
